I'm thrilled to announce that starting April 3rd I'll be teaching public classes again in Cambridge, at the wonderful Down Under School of Yoga. Down Under is a welcoming center for yoga education and community, and offers generous introductory packages for new students. Come to our Yoga Festival on April 8-9th where I'll be co-teaching an Iyengar class with several of my colleagues. Visit Down Under's website for registration info.
My regular class will be on Thursdays at 10:45 am. Down Under Cambridge is located at 2000 Mass Avenue. Look forward to seeing you!
I began practicing yoga in the early 1990s after I completed a master's degree in international relations. Many teachers, friends, and colleagues contributed to my learning, but none more than Patricia Walden. I study with her on a weekly basis, and also participate in many of her workshops and retreats. My studies have taken me to several continents, including three visits to the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India.
My teaching specialties include yoga basics, yoga for managing osteoarthritis, and integrating yoga philosophy into postural practice. I'm especially skilled at working with college students and practitioners of all ages interested in using the physical body as a vehicle for experiencing deeper levels of consciousness and inner peace. In addition to teaching yoga classes, I'm researching connections between sustained Iyengar Yoga practice and the shaping of practitioners' global perspectives.
