I began practicing yoga in the early 1990s after I completed a master's degree in international relations. Many teachers, friends, and colleagues have and continue to contribute to my learning, but none more than Patricia Walden. I study with her on a weekly basis, and also participate in many of her workshops and retreats. My studies have taken me to several continents, including several visits to the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India. I enjoy teaching people of all ages and experience levels and am especially drawn to integrating yoga philosophy into postural practice to cultivate clear awareness and and inner peace. In addition to Down Under Yoga, I teach an undergraduate course on yoga theory, culture, and practice at Lesley University, where I’m also conducting doctoral research on how sustained engagement with yoga might affect practitioners’ worldview.
